Story #1, Front Page : "Rewards created for good attendance raises questions"

Texas changed a few laws in the school districts this year. The new attendance incentives are allowing students to earn special rewards for going to school as much as possible. Students who get 90% or higher on attendance will be eligible to have their own parking spots and the ability to be exempted from taking finals of their choice. Higher attendance will also raise state-wide revenue. The state of Texas now encourages students to go to school by rewarding them in different ways.

The Bowie administrators gave some thought about the attendance policies in-effect this semester.

The lead sentence sort of hooked me, but i thought it could be stronger.

Story #2, Student Life: "Red Cross Club presidents raise awareness about about medical and health issues to make a difference"

The Red Cross Club at Bowie is a club that promotes the Red Cross of Austin. Their main purpose it to raise awareness for the health of others. Right now they are doing a fundraiser to get money for vaccinations of the children in Africa who can't get them themselves. The Red Cross Club is all about the wellness of students and children everywhere.

I didn't think that it was relevant to the story.

Story #3, News: "FFA take T.C.Y.S. by a storm"

The FFA at Bowie took their animals to the TCYS competition this year and won in most of the competitions. Everyone was so happy in how they placed and were when all there hard work payed off in the end.

It's a fun thing that Bowie's been doing for years.
The students were responsible for everything that they needed including their animals. They are in charge of feeding them, bathing them, and helping them grow. All the students put tons of time into this and it does pay off in the end.

Story #4, Sports: "Ray is an All-American nominee"

Senior Kianna Ray is an all-star basketball player fro Bowie High School. She leads the varsity girls' team as captain, and there is no denying why.

It is a reflection of how well Ray plays basketball.
It was accomplished by interviewing a few players to get their thoughts on the story.

Sort-of but it was not my complete interest so I might not have kept going.

Story #5, Entertainment:

The Steel Drums Program here at Bowie gave a little insight to what it would be like if you were in the program. Amy Suggs, director of the Steel Ensembles, explained that they got a very special chance to go and play for PASIC ( Percussive Arts Society International Convention) this year.

Front Pages of the World

1. My favorite page was the Staten Island Advance, of New York. I like this page the most because of the images that they included on the cover.
2. "Scalded by tea, woman sues Wendy's." This headline really caught my eye because I thought that is was so unusual that i had to read the whole story/caption following it.
3. There were 7 stories on the front cover of that Newspaper.
4. They all have one or two kinds of fonts and the headlines are mostly the same size. They all have one main photo and some other smaller ones. They also have local, national, and international stories on that covers.
5. Each newspaper has their own color scheme and font style that they use throughout the front pages. Some of them have long, narrow stories on the sides surrounding a main story in the center. Others only have wide stories that cover the whole page. Also they might have 2-5 photos on the same cover, that are different sizes depending on the newspaper.

• I think all yearbooks need a inventive title.
• Their school name and the years on the cover.
• Table of contents.
• They all need tons of pictures and stories.
• Should give a brief flashback into the schools past years.
• They should all stay within a topic per page.
• Each year book needs to have a specific color scheme.
• Should include students and teachers/staff.
• Every page needs text and pictures that work together
• Each image should have an explantation to it.
• Should have in-school activities and away from school, school related activities.
• Needs to include school academics and sports. 
• Clubs, organizations, events, fundraisers, get togethers, should be included.
• Should have the opinions of the students and staff in it.
• needs to tell a story throughout. 
• Should show emotions and memories people would like to remember.
• Should all have different sections of ideas.
• Every section needs to be introduced.
• Need pages numbers.
• Needs to include places to get yearbook signed.
• Needs a section for the portraits all of the students from that year.
• Should honor anything big, like graduations.
• Should reflect on the past year.
• An index with students contributions in the yearbook. 
• Random things that people can be surveyed by(likes, dislikes, clothing, jewelry, etc...)

3. The school shows off their academics and their sports themes. They also like to have a short section on their seniors from when they were younger. 
4. There are 8 sections in this yearbook.
5. My favorite spread was the "watch how we grow" section.
6. Yes there was.
7. Yes there are groups and clubs featured.
8. There is not a table of contents.
9. 1,830 kids are enrolled at this school.
